WHAT & WHY

Thirty Percy has been providing funding and support for changemakers since it was founded in 2018. From our experience we recognised the need to be more intentional with how we support individuals, creating funding models that sustain changemakers who are doing meaningful work in support of their communities. In recognition of that, our revised strategy has a greater emphasis on supporting individuals, holding them at the heart of the work we do.

As part of this work, we have developed the Honouring Fund, which has been designed in collaboration with changemakers. We want to acknowledge and celebrate the positive impact that elder changemakers have made due to their lifelong commitment to social change, by providing meaningful support to this community of individuals. These changemakers have been doing the work for decades, often unseen, unsupported and unacknowledged by philanthropy.

WHO

In our rapidly evolving world marked by uncertainty and division, the role of the Elder Changemaker is more vital than ever. They are courageous visionaries, fueled by an inner fire and deep integrity, who envision a better reality for others and take decisive action to realise it. They are creators, mentors, leaders, and pathfinders, unafraid to be themselves. They are masters of seeing possibilities where others see obstacles for a better future and are continuously adapting, growing, and learning from new patterns of social shifts.

These Changemakers have spent a lifetime honing their skills, accumulating wisdom, and demonstrating their resilience. Their ability to navigate countless challenges underpins their enduring impact, as they craft relationships, inspire others, and support their communities. Their efforts create ripples of positive change beyond what they can see and are invaluable leaders, anchors and sources of guidance, whose deep experience prioritises empathy and human connection, whilst serving as trusted mentors for the next generation, in the quest for lasting societal transformation

Elder Changemakers embody the essence of enduring revolution. By valuing and supporting their contributions, we honour their legacy, supporting them in laying a strong foundation for future generations. Their leadership and wisdom are beacons of hope, guiding us toward a more just, equitable, and progressive society for all.

THE OFFER: IN BRIEF

We will be supporting these changemakers by providing financial security, investing in their wellbeing and safety, whilst supporting them to document their life’s work and providing space for them to focus on their next steps.

We’re doing this to enable the continuation and preservation of their life’s work for the next generation of activists and community leaders to build upon. Ensuring their work continues to evolve.
