Sept 2024 - for support during Oct - Dec 2024
***The role was taken on by Catherine Wilks - here you can read her reflections on playing this role.
This role brief is shared as inspiration for others who might want to integrate this into their work and facilitation practice and support.***
Overview:
At Thirty Percy we’ve experienced the power that creative and engaging facilitation has in supporting and innovating new funding approaches. We see the role facilitation can play in unlocking and enabling more money to flow to where it needs to be - and want to see how we can support and enable and ensure there is more facilitation capacity into the funding ecosystem, beyond experienced facilitators alone.
As a next experiment, we are seeking a facilitator to join our upcoming sprint as part of an experimental approach to facilitation. This role is designed to enhance the sprint process while offering the facilitator a unique opportunity to develop their skills within the sector and community. The sprint provides an open space for testing facilitation methods and aims to deliver valuable feedback and insights into the process.
1. Observation and Support during Co-Design Week:
Attend and observe Co-Design Week sessions, offering support to the lead facilitator as needed.
Gain hands-on experience by learning from the lead facilitator and engaging with the sprint team when necessary.
2. Mid-Sprint Feedback:
Re-join the team in weeks three or four to assess progress and outcomes from Co-Design Week.
Provide constructive feedback to the sprint team on process alignment and goal achievement.
3. Experimentation & Learning:
Participate in an experimental approach to facilitation, offering feedback on the process and suggesting improvements.
Contribute to developing facilitation methods that can be applied in future sprints within the sector.
